Skanjebin is an important form of medicine in Iranian traditional medicine, which uses vinegar and honey or sugar as the base ingredients and other additives such as ansal in its preparation. Skanjebin has many uses in maintaining human health and treating patients. The most important medicinal property of Skanjebin syrup is the treatment of liver problems, and depending on the other plants added to it, it acquires more therapeutic properties. Ansal Skanjebin is a combination of Skanjebin with a vinegar and sugar base and the addition of field onion or ansal.
Ansal or Asqeel or Dashti onion is a type of onion whose temperament is creamy in the third and dry in the second and also has fecal moisture. Due to its laxative properties, this onion is very effective in enemas of organs from thick and viscous mucus and is also an absorbent of substances from the depths of the body. The Dashti onion has a special sharpness that allows it to penetrate into small veins. In Iranian traditional medicine, this onion has also been used to relieve phlegmy shortness of breath.

Clinical studies on Ansal confirm traditional beliefs in the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver, asthma, head lice, aloe vera and inflammatory pain. The antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer properties of this onion have also been confirmed. The results of the studies showed that Ansal is useful in the treatment of respiratory and digestive diseases.
In a clinical trial conducted to investigate the effect of onion peel in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), 42 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease were enrolled. The results of the study showed that the use of this herb is effective in the treatment of mild chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and can be used for treatment.
